About the Event

Pivot Theatre is proud to perform our award-winning production of Perfect Arrangement as we compete in TheatreBC's Mainstage Festival. Perfect Arrangement previously won the Fraser Valley Zone Festival in May, with awards for Outstanding Leading Actor in a Female Role, Outstanding Director, the Backstage Cooperation Award, and finally, Outstanding Production. Join Norma, Jim, Millie, Bob, Kitty, Theodore, and Barbara one last time for this funny, thoughtful, and timely show by playwright Topher Payne.

Synopsis

It’s 1950, deep in the first decade of the Cold War. Couples Bob and Millie and Norma and Jim host a dinner for boss Theodore and his wife Kitty, where Theodore announces that Bob and Norma’s next ‘bold step in their service’ will be routing homosexuals out of the State Department. Problem is that “Bob and Millie” and “Norma and Jim” are actually Bob and Jim and Millie and Norma, two gay couples who have married as heterosexuals to avoid scrutiny. They are now conflicted between continuing to fly under the radar to protect themselves, and carrying out their jobs working for the government. Canadian premiere. Directed by Kayt Roth.
