Beck Marie

Facilitator

Beck Marie (she/they) is a proud non-binary and disabled actor, aspiring writer and director, and all-around theatre enthusiast. Although they were mostly trained in filmmaking, they found a love for community theatre a few years ago when they starred as Lizzie in their hometown’s production of Pride and Prejudice. Other favourite roles include playing Tilly in She Kills Monsters, and Millie in Pivot's own production of Perfect Arrangement, where she won two festival awards for her work: Best Actor and Best Costume Design.

Beck believes that more space is needed in theatre for marginalized groups, especially for creators who are Black, Indigenous, disabled, and trans. They are excited to work with Pivot to uplift and amplify these voices in community theatre, and are committed to creating accessibility in these spaces.
